Yesterday, in Day 23, we were further exploring the myth of Durga/Kali with a chant Om Dum Durga. Today I would like to connect both archetypes in one mantra, a powerful mantra Om Mata Kali. Chanting it invokes the support of more vigorous energies of feminine consciousness and enlightenment.
Lyrics to the mantra:
Om Mata Kali, Kali Durga Ma
Meaning:
Om – is a Universal mantra invoking the possibility of achieving enlighment.
Mata – means Mother
Mata Kali and Mata Durga – are two aspects of the Divine feminine

In astrology the archetype of Kali could be compared to the dwarf planet Eris, we could even say the 10th planet in our solar system. Discovered in 2005 and named after the Greek goddess of chaos and discord, Eris is an emerging archetype that can help us understand the area’s in our lives we most need to build strength, ferocity and backbone. The Myth says that Eris was NOT invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis. Feeling miffed she tossed a golden apple into the wedding party with the inscription for the most beautiful one. The goddesses Hera, Athena and Aphrodite all laid claim to the apple and the title. It is said that she is an archetype of the forgotten feminine power, not welcomed by the patriarchy, which glorified only women who agreed with them (Athena), looked after their offspring (Hera) or had a decorative role of a perfect beauty (Aphrodite).
Astrologically on a global plane Eris has been currently strongly influencing the discord in our world being in a strong aspect with Pluto and the conjunctions between Pluto-Saturn-Jupier in early 2020. Her square with Pluto started in fact in 2019 and will last till 2021, resulting in conflicts, hidden agenda and a power struggle. Usually when people see the square in a chart it causes some discomfort, a fear of some sort of confrontation or challenge. My good friend, an astrologer, told me however that squares are the force of change, when something doesn't work a square may bring a situation and circumstances to do something about it. No pain no gain, we could say.
To add fire to our astrology contemplation of 21st of Dec, Eris will not only square Pluto but also conjunct Mars around that day, the energy of progress, assertiveness but also an open conflict.
May we be aware that our strange reality right now might be indeed influenced by forces beyond our full comprehension. So let's stay grounded and balanced on one side and be positive and open to the best possible influence from the Universe on the other side.
